But how does one create the perfect mood board?

When Lounge Lovers was approached by the ladies of Three Birds Renovations to help furnish their newest project, we jumped at the chance!

The incredible transformation of Mick Fanning's gorgeous beachside holiday house sounded like the perfect opportunity to break out the mood boards and get to styling.

An Australian icon and world-renowned athlete, Mick Fanning is notorious for keeping his exciting life private. That’s why, when he opened his breathtaking beach side home to the public eye, Lounge Lovers was excited for the opportunity to show off our beautiful furniture - and here we share our top tips for curating the perfect interior decor so that you can too!

Step One: Find Your Inspiration

Our mission is to help you make any place your space. So, what does your perfect space look like?

Start by asking: What vibe do I want my space to inspire? Is it cosy, or chic? Coastal, or city luxe? Do I want dark and moody, or bright and airy?

This will help you decide on things like colours, shapes, and how you want to use your space. A city luxe mood board would have clean lines and minimal, dark tones. Cosy spaces would be warm and earthy, with curved corners and plush loveseats.

Whether it's a rental, a room, or a family home, your space should be your ultimate destination for rest, relaxation, inspiration, and self-care. So keep this in mind when designing your interiors!

Step Two: Name Your Space

When we heard the name of Mick’s gorgeous beachy home - Rolling Seas- we knew they had found the perfect direction for our styling journey, and the perfect title for our mood board.

Coastal and breezy, Rolling Seas made us think of crisp linen, plush seating, and warm, easy accents. With that in mind, the Lounge Lovers style team got to work with the Three Birds Renovations team.

Step Three: Start Styling

Now that the vibe, colours, and direction of the interior décor had been finalised, picking the pieces became easier than ever!

A quick browse on our website for our inspo-words: Costal, crisp, and white linen took us straight to our Bronte range.

Call us obsessed, but we are loving the way Bronte makes the perfect addition across all areas of the Rolling Seas house, as were Mick & the Three Birds.
